“Salman, Shah Rukh, much bigger stars than me” – Aamir Khan

When asked about the overhyping and sensationalising of reporting on matters like Salman's recent comment rather than reporting on real matters, Aamir said that media shouldn't highlight the negativity too much. "It is understandable that controversy sells more but still media should also report more on positive things that are happening in the society as it will spread happiness and positivity amongst people," Aamir said. What about Irrfan Khan's controversial comments on reforms that are needed for Muslims? "Religion is a personal matter for everyone so it won't be fair to comment on that," Aamir played at the front foot without getting stumped or getting caught off guard by the media.

Aamir informed that the reason for releasing the poster of Dangal two days before Sultan is that he understands that Sultan will be a huge hit and by highlighting Dangal poster at cinema halls it will mean a big promotion for their film. On this a reporter asked in a tongue in cheek fashion if he considers Salman as a bigger star than him since he's using his film to promote his own film. "I've always believed that Salman is a bigger star than me. I've always considered Salman, Shah Rukh, Mr Bachchan, much bigger stars than me. When Salman or Shah Rukh enter a room, it seems ki haan yaar star ne enter kiya hai but when I enter, it seems ki koi waiter aaya hai," Aamir said. Considering these days anyone can get seriously offended, Aamir immediately said as a possible cover up, "I don't mean to say that waiters are any less. I have a lot of respect for waiters."

When probed about the growing yaarana between Shah Rukh and Salman and if he feels insecure, Aamir replied, "I'm very happy that Shah Rukh and Salman are spending time together. They went out for cycling recently. It is excellent." Aamir informed that people talk about the rivalry between him and Salman since both Sultan and Dangal have wrestling as their backdrop but what many don't know is that it was Salman who was instrumental in helping Aamir get the title Dangal. "Dangal title was registered with Puneet Issar. Salman spoke to Puneet to give the title to us. I met Puneet and he graciously gave the title to us," Aamir said.

Aamir will be shooting for a promotional video of Dangal by the end of July which may or may not be in the film. Talking about the film, Khan said that he was surprised with the refreshing humour that writer director Nitesh Tiwary has infused in the film. "My mom watches TV serials and she had a lot of positive things to say about Sakshi Tanvar. Sakshi is a joy to work with. She is fantastic. She's a one take artiste while I have to do so many takes to get to the desired result," Aamir said. He had a lot of good things to say about the four girls who play his daughters. "Taare Zameen Par and 3 Idiots have had a huge impact on people and society in general. We hope Dangal will affect the society in general in a positive way," Aamir said.

There have been reports that Aamir has confirmed astronaut Rakesh Sharma's biopic. "I have been approached by several people with interesting subjects. It won't be fair to comment on anything till I actually lock what I'm doing next." But is the subject of Rakesh Sharma biopic appeals to him? "As I said till I confirm something I wouldn't comment on anything as it won't be fair to others," Aamir said without giving an inch of information away.
