Actor Salman Khan recently took to social media to acknowledge veteran actor Kabir Bedi and his iconic role in the 1976 television series Sandokan. In his Instagram Stories, Salman referred to Bedi as the “original Tiger of India” while reflecting on the impact the series had nearly five decades ago.

In the post, Salman noted that Sandokan marked a significant moment at the time, with Bedi becoming one of the early Indian actors to lead an international television show. The series, which gained popularity in several countries, remains one of Bedi’s most recognised works.
Salman also mentioned the upcoming adaptation of Sandokan, which will feature Can Yaman in the lead role. Wishing him well, Salman acknowledged the legacy associated with the character and said the actor has “big shoes to fill.”
Sharing the story, Salman wrote, “Sandokan Sandokan 50 years ago the first indian to do an international tv show, the forever handsome, enigmatic, the original Tiger, not only of Malaysia but of India… The new Sandokan @canyaman… u have big shoes to fill in. Best of luck! I'm gonna watch it right now! I love u @ikabirbedi.”

On the work front, Salman will next be seen in Battle of Galwan, directed by Apoorva Lakhia and produced by Salma Khan under the banner of Salman Khan Films. The film also features Chitrangada Singh in a key role.
