After portraying a series of physically demanding and intense characters over the years, Saiyami Kher is set to return to a softer, emotionally driven role in filmmaker Vikram Phadnis’ upcoming untitled social drama. Known for pushing her physical and emotional limits on screen as a paraplegic sportsperson, a cop, a spy, and a fire brigade officer, this shift marks a refreshing and thoughtful change in her artistic journey.

Saiyami has largely been associated with strong, resilient characters that require grit, endurance, and a commanding presence. This time, however, the actor steps into a quieter, more vulnerable space, allowing emotions to take centre stage. Her performances in films like 8 A.M. Metro, Faadu, and Choked have already proven her ability to bring depth and sensitivity to layered characters, making this transition both natural and exciting.
Speaking about the role, Saiyami says, “I’ve played characters that are physically very demanding for a long time, and those roles have shaped me a lot as an actor. This film is very different. It’s softer, more emotional, and relies heavily on internal journeys rather than external action. That was what attracted me to it. Sometimes portraying vulnerability is far more challenging, and I was keen to explore that space again.”
With this upcoming project, Saiyami Kher once again reinforces her versatility, showing that whether it’s strength, silence, or sensitivity, she brings honesty and conviction to every character she takes on.
