Actor Saiyami Kher has spoken about sharing screen space with Akshay Kumar in director Priyadarshan’s upcoming film Haiwaan, describing the collaboration as meaningful given Kumar’s influence on her approach to fitness and discipline.
The film will mark the first time Saiyami and Akshay appear together in a Priyadarshan project. While details about the story remain under wraps, the film is expected to combine elements of action and drama, with the casting drawing attention because of the performers’ contrasting yet complementary screen personas.
Saiyami said that Akshay’s career had long shaped her outlook on physical training and work ethic. “I grew up watching Akshay sir’s films, and he was the OG film star that actually inspired me in my own fitness journey. His discipline, lifestyle, and the way he prioritizes health have always been a huge inspiration to me. To now stand alongside him in Priyadarshan sir’s Haiwaan feels very exciting,” she said.
She added that her admiration extends beyond his on-screen presence. “What I admire most is that beyond being known as the fittest star in Bollywood…the OG khiladi, he always remembers his roots. He gives back and takes care of stuntmen like no one else. As someone who has always believed in integrating sports and fitness into my career choices, working with him has taught me so much. He is who he is because of his hardwork, discipline and commitment. It’s truly admirable.”
According to people associated with the production, the two actors were often seen engaging in sports and training activities during breaks on set, reflecting their shared interest in fitness. Saiyami also recently shared a short video from the sets showing the two participating in a game together, which circulated widely among fans online.
With Priyadarshan directing and a cast led by Akshay Kumar and Saiyami Kher, Haiwaan is being positioned as a performance-driven commercial project. Further details regarding its release schedule and supporting cast are expected to be announced in the coming months.
