Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan and filmmaker Siddharth Anand are finally back together after a nearly 17-year hiatus! The director took to social media on May 27 to share a photo from the Budapest sets, reuniting with the actor he considers his “first hero.” While the official name of the project wasn't revealed, it's widely reported to be the upcoming heist thriller Jewel Thief.

The project, which began filming in February 2024, stars Khan alongside Jaideep Ahlawat and Nikita Dutta. Directed by Robbie Grewal, Jewel Thief promises to be an action-packed thrill ride. Produced by Anand under his Marflix Pictures banner, this marks his second venture into production after the high-budget action film Fighter.

Details about the plot are still under wraps, but reports suggest that the core of Jewel Thief hinges on a thrilling clash between Khan and Ahlawat's characters. The film's screenplay, penned by Grewal, Anand, and Sambit Mishra, promises a relentless battle of wits set against the backdrop of a high-stakes heist. Industry insiders have been abuzz with speculation ever since news broke that Netflix secured the rights to the film for a reported sum of Rs. 60 crore.

Saif Ali Khan and Siddharth Anand's previous collaborations, Salaam Namaste (2005) and Ta Ra Rum Pum (2007), were commercial successes. This film marks their reunion after 17 years.

Meanwhile, Saif Ali Khan will also be seen in Jr. NTR's upcoming Telugu film Devara: Part 1, also starring Janhvi Kapoor. It is set for October 2024 release.
