Popular actor Ronit Roy was recently seen taking to social media to share a road travel experience where he was almost going to hit a rider who was said to be riding on the ‘wrong direction of the road’. The actor took to the platform to share his concerns with the app under which he asked the app to take care of their drivers’ safety. On the other hand, Swiggy too responded to the actor when he expressed his disappointment on the platform.
Ronit Roy took to X, formerly known as Twitter, and said, “@Swiggy I almost killed one of your riders. They definitely need instructions on riding. Riding those small electric mopeds doesn’t mean that they ride on the wrong side of the road onto oncoming traffic. But then, Do you even care for their lives or is it just business as usual?” Responding to the same, Swiggy said, “Hey Ronit, we expect our delivery partner to follow all traffic rules and have noted this to be looked into, do share any details if available for the necessary action to be taken.”

Followed by his post, many of the social media users shared their experiences with Swiggy riders. Among them, one of the social media users, “I was gonna tweet the same to Swiggy sometime back. I also see Swiggy delivery partners breaking the traffic rule a lot here in Bengaluru. Few delivery partners even have been beaten up because they crashed their 2-wheeler into someone else's.” Another one added, “Nothing new for Swiggy. Delivery guys take their normal bike also in no entry... these are mopeds....”
