Along with the intense chemistry between Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt, the kiss scene between Dharmendra and Shabana Azmi also garnered much attention in the film. Making a reference to the same was Azmi during the recent Filmfare where she revealed about how her niece and Indian actress Tabu kept teasing her about the scene, revealed a Zoom report.

Shabana Azmi and Dharmendra received a lot of appreciation for their bold step of showcasing a kiss onscreen as veteran stars. The two actors not only received support from their audience but also from their respective partners and kids for their bold scene. Azmi even received an honor for her impactful role in the film as she was conferred with the award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role at Filmfare 2024.

During the event, Shabana recalled the comments made by Tabu and she said, “Tabu joh meri niece hai, itni shaitaan hai. Woh kehti hai aapne hila ke rakh diya industry ko. Ab sab aapki age ki ladkiya keh rahi hai ke kiss hogi toh hum karege! (Tabu, my niece is such a naughty girl. She said that I have shook the entire film industry. Now all women of my age are saying that they would only do a film where they get to kiss)”, she reportedly joked.

For the unversed, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani is a love drama featuring Ranveer Singh as the stereotypical Punjabi munda from a wealthy family who falls in love with the educated and elegant Rani Chatterjee, who belongs to an art-loving and liberal Bengali family. The film also stars Jaya Bachchan, Aamir Bashir, Tota Roy Chowdhury, Churni Ganguly, Anjali Anand, and Kshitee Jog.
