The makers of Raja Shivaji have unveiled a new poster, offering a fresh glimpse into the much-anticipated historical epic. Backed by Jio Studios and Mumbai Film Company, the film continues to build intrigue as it gears up for its next major milestone—the release of its anthem, ‘Chhatrapati’, scheduled to drop on Monday.
Helmed by Riteish Deshmukh, who also serves as the writer, producer, and lead actor, the film sees him step into the role of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The newly released poster maintains a minimal yet impactful aesthetic, focusing on intensity while hinting at the film’s expansive emotional and historical narrative. In recent weeks, the makers have also shared a series of glimpses that aim to capture key moments from the life and legacy of the iconic Maratha warrior.
Adding to the film’s growing buzz is its upcoming anthem, ‘Chhatrapati’, composed and sung by the acclaimed duo Ajay–Atul. The main chorus of the track has already been released, receiving an encouraging response from audiences. The full anthem is expected to feature a grand, cinematic soundscape that aligns with the scale of the film.

Raja Shivaji brings together an extensive ensemble cast, including Sanjay Dutt, Abhishek Bachchan, Vidya Balan, Mahesh Manjrekar, Sachin Khedekar, Boman Irani, Bhagyashree, Fardeen Khan, Jitendra Joshi, Amol Gupte, and Genelia Deshmukh, among others, contributing to the film’s magnitude and appeal.
Produced by Jyoti Deshpande and Genelia Deshmukh, the project is positioned as a large-scale cinematic retelling of one of India’s most revered historical figures. The narrative aims to explore not only the battles and achievements but also the enduring legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
Set for a worldwide theatrical release on May 1, 2026, Raja Shivaji will arrive in both Marathi and Hindi, aiming to reach a broad audience. With its combination of scale, music, and a prominent cast, the film is shaping up to be one of the notable historical releases of the year.
