The versatile actor cum producer Riteish Deshmukh, who is known for his ‘never-say-never’ attitude, is one busy man these days. While on one hand, he has the multi starrer film Housefull 3 coming up, on the other hand, he is busy with Banjo, which marks the Bollywood debut of the National award-winning Marathi filmmaker Ravi Jadhav.
While the entry of a hero is always grand in any Bollywood film, the USP of Banjo is that, Riteish Deshmukh will have an unlikely entry in the film. He will be emerging from a gutter! The said scene was shot recently in a sewer in Worli in a span of 2 hours. Speaking about the film, Ravi Jadhav said that Banjo is a film about the unsung banjo artists, who have never gained respect for their art, despite the fact that they have been around for more than 100 years!
When asked about Riteish Deshmukh’s reaction to the scene, Ravi Jadhav said that Riteish Deshmukh was game for the same and had no reservations about shooting it. Ravi Jadhav added that, there were precautions which were taken before the final shot, in the form of having a doctor on the set at all times. They also had smeared Riteish Deshmukh’s face in oil so that the grime would come off easily.
Banjo is a musical film with Riteish Deshmukh and Nargis Fakhri in the lead. Produced by Krishika Lulla, the film is slated to release on August 19.
