Ever since a cancer-free Rishi Kapoor returned to Mumbai after spending nearly a year in New York, everyone was waiting for him to dive back into work. Proving reports to be true, the actor is reuniting with Juhi Chawla after over two decades, for a comedy titled Sharmaji Namkeen.
The film went on floors today, and Juhi took to Twitter to share a handful of pictures. Looks like they are from the actors’ script-reading session because we can see them engrossed in reading! “Wishing ‘SHARMAJI NAMKEEN ‘ all the very very best, as shooting starts to roll !! May it be one of the most charming films of 2020 ..!! @chintskap @ritesh_sid @FarOutAkhtar @HoneyTrehan,” Juhi wrote.

The film will be helmed by debutant director Hitesh Bhatia, and is based in Delhi.
While his treatments were on, Kapoor’s Jhootha Kahin Ka, a comedy also starring Sunny Singh and Omkar Kapoor also released, but sank without making any noise. Sharmaji Namkeen, we believe, is going to make for a strong comeback for Kapoor!
Kapoor and Juhi were last seen together in the 1996 film Daraar.
