Riddhima Kapoor Sahni is all set to step into the world of films with her debut in Daadi Ki Shaadi, and the experience, she says, has been nothing short of emotional and transformative. Opening up about this new chapter, Riddhima reflected on the significance of the moment and the personal strength she draws from her late father, Rishi Kapoor.
Speaking about her debut, she shared, “It truly feels surreal and deeply emotional. There’s a sense of everything coming full circle… I know my father is always with me, blessing me in anything and everything that I choose to do. That thought gives me a lot of strength and comfort."
Taking on acting at this stage of life came with its own set of challenges, something Riddhima candidly acknowledged. “Honestly, the biggest challenge was stepping into an entirely new world at this stage of life. There’s a certain vulnerability in starting fresh, but also a lot of excitement at the same time," she said, highlighting the mix of nerves and enthusiasm that accompanied her transition.
Interestingly, her previous experience in front of the camera helped her ease into the process. “Being in front of the camera for a show made me comfortable. It gave me a sense of ease and familiarity, which definitely made this transition smoother," she added.
One of the most special aspects of the film for Riddhima has been sharing screen space with her mother, veteran actress Neetu Kapoor. Describing the experience, she said, “Working with mom was incredibly special. I discovered how effortless and instinctive she is as an actor." Further talking about how her mother’s advice about ‘staying natural and not overthinking’, Riddhima admitted, “It really helped me ease into my performance."
Daadi Ki Shaadi is a romantic comedy directed by Ashish R. Mohan and features an ensemble cast including Kapil Sharma, Sadia Khateeb, and Sarath Kumar, alongside Neetu Kapoor. The film promises a lighthearted take on relationships and family dynamics, with a strong emotional core.
Slated to release in cinemas on May 8, Daadi Ki Shaadi marks not just a professional milestone for Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, but also a deeply personal journey—one that blends legacy, family, and a bold new beginning.
