With the monsoon nearing an end, large parts of India will soon face the October heat. Stepping out in the sun during this period will make your skin tanned. For those who do not wish to use products with chemicals in them can try this simple method that has been shared by actress Richa Chadha on her Instagram stories on Tuesday.

On Tuesday evening, Richa took to her Instagram stories and shared a picture of her face covered in a homemade mask. She said she used a mixture of turmeric powder and gram flour to make a face mask that helps with detanning your skin. Sharing her picture with the desi homemade mask on, Richa wrote, "How to face mask. Besan Haldi to the rescue of tanned skin!"

While both turmeric and gram flour are dry ingredients you can mix the two with either milk or honey. Turmeric has skin lightening properties which help get rid of dark spots usually caused by long exposure to the sun. Usually it takes around two weeks for turmeric to show its results. You can use it as many times as you want in a week as it has no known side effects to the skin.
