REVEALED: “The film which I’ll do with Kartik Aaryan will hopefully be defining for both of us” – Karan Johar : Bollywood News

Kartik Aaryan and Karan Johar were all set to collaborate for Dostana 2 back in 2019. It also starred Janhvi Kapoor but sadly, the pandemic hit. Also, there were reports of differences between the two. As a result, Kartik was no longer a part of the sequel. Later on, Dostana 2 was kept on the backburner. Earlier this year, Bollywood Hungama was the first one to report that Kartik Aaryan and Karan Johar will share the stage at the 14th edition of the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne, which was held in August 2023. The pictures of them together at the festival went viral, as expected.

During an interaction held by Pinkvilla, Karan Johar was asked by a fan if he would like to work with Kartik Aaryan after working with several established actors. Karan said, “Kartik and I nearly made a film. For various reasons, it couldn’t happen. But never say never. I am sure the future holds something very strong for both Kartik and I.”

When asked if they could revive Dostana 2, Karan Johar explained, “We don’t know about Dostana. But that film (which I’ll do with Kartik Aaryan) will hopefully be defining for both of us.”

The fan added that he hopes that Karan Johar’s venture with Kartik Aaryan turns out to be a masterpiece. Karan smiled and exulted, “Masterpiece toh usse aap banaoge. I just hope that we can collaborate very soon, that too on a film that we both are equally excited about.”

Meanwhile, Karan Johar recently completed 25 years as a filmmaker on October 16. This was the day when his debut directorial, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, was released in cinemas. Starring Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol and Rani Mukerji with Salman Khan in a special appearance, the love saga emerged as one of the biggest hits of all time.
