If choosing Dangerous Ishq wasn’t a surprising enough decision in itself, Karisma Kapoor has now gone ahead and surprised B-town by giving a nod of approval to one film old Rajneesh Duggall as her leading man for the film. That this model turned actor is Vikram Bhatt’s blue eyed boy since the days of 1920 is a well known fact. However, a big jump like this and that too in as many as four different avtars opposite Karisma has only made Rajneesh thank his stars for the long wait that he willingly put up.
“It may sound cliched but really, in cases like these you actually end up saying that the wait has been worth it”, says Rajneesh from Bangkok, “After 1920 was declared a success, I could have jumped into number of projects but I refrained from doing so. I won’t say that the wait wasn’t annoying; it was in fact but I couldn’t have possibly picked up anything random.”
It was during this period of uncertainty when support from ones close to him came in handy. Says Rajniesh, “I used to stay with this close friend of mine who said that in the world around you, there is low energy and high energy and it is entirely up to you what you want for yourself. I have always seen the positive side of life and that kept me going.”
A break with Karisma was indeed a big deal after all since he had started off with a debutant Adah Sharma and now big league has beckoned finally. “Yes, it can’t be better than this but to be a lead opposite Karisma. There were offers earlier too but they weren’t lead roles. On the other hand, I was sure that after a hit like 1920, I couldn’t have settled for anything lesser.”
He is positive about things looking up further for him from this point on. “I am happy that Vikram has shown continued faith in me. He also roped me in for Phhir which is releasing next week. He is at the peak of his career and with him, Karisma and myself working together on Dangerous Ishq, it should be a game changer for sure. I can’t wait to hit the sets and see with my own eyes how she really performs. Now that should indeed be a treat.”
