The commitment of Ranveer Singh to physically demanding roles has once again come into focus, this time through insights shared by makeup and prosthetic artist Karandeep Singh, who worked on the climax sequence of Dhurandhar The Revenge. In a recent behind-the-scenes conversation, Singh detailed the extreme weather conditions and challenges faced by the team while filming the high-octane sequence.
According to Karandeep, the shoot took place in the outskirts of Ludhiana under intense heat, making the process physically taxing for both the cast and crew. “We were shooting in the outskirts of Ludhiana and the temperature was around 47 to 48 degrees. There was not a single tree or shade anywhere,” Karandeep recalled. “Heat was reflecting from every metal surtace around us. On one side there were vehicles, on the other side containers, and goods trains standing nearby. We were shooting right in the middle of all this,” he said.
The climax sequence reportedly involved extensive action, with Ranveer performing stunts that required him to move across heated metal structures. “The fight sequence had Ranveer jumping from one container to another. The containers were literally burning in the heat, The amount of blood we used on Ranveer every day was unbelievable. We finished a full bucket of blood in a week,” Karandeep added.
Beyond the action, the environmental conditions also made routine activities difficult for the crew. Despite having cooling equipment on set, the heat remained overwhelming. “Fans and ACs were there but nothing was working because of the heat. It was so hot that we couldn’t even eat properly. A wig itself has weight and warmth. Wearing that in 47 degrees is like wearing a woollen cap,” he shared.
Ranveer Singh’s role in the film required him to wear layered costumes, including a Pathani suit, leather jacket, and overcoat, along with prosthetics and repeated applications of fake blood. Despite these demanding conditions, the actor remained consistently engaged with the performance, as per the crew’s account.
Dhurandhar The Revenge has been positioned as a high-intensity action drama, with its climax sequence emerging as one of the film’s most talked-about elements. The behind-the-scenes revelations highlight the level of preparation and endurance that went into executing the sequence, particularly in challenging outdoor conditions.
