Saharsh Kumar Singh, who played Randeep Hooda’s co-star in Highway, expressed his concerns to the star when his family was attacked by a gang of goons in his village in Rae Bareli district. Randeep, who believed that his intervention would help his friend, decided to take to social media to create public awareness and actually received a response immediately from the UP police.
Saharsh Kumar Singh and his family members, who are residents of the village Lalaganj in Uttar Pradesh, faced trouble by local goons as they attacked them in a drunken state. After a verbal spat with the neighbours, three men beat up the entire family including the women resulting in Saharsh’s retired father Murli Manohar Shukla suffering multiple fractures. Saharsh Kumar Singh, throwing light on the violent incident, alleged that these goons were powerful people in his village and have been harassing several local residents for years. He also asserted that these people possess a massive criminal record and have been to jail on varied charges but they have terrorized everyone around enough to not take action against them.
That’s when Singh decided to approach his friend and colleague Randeep Hooda for help and even sent a video of the assault to him. Traumatized by his friend’s suffering, the actor immediately agreed to the same but believed that approaching his police friends wouldn’t create much of a difference. The actor, speaking about the incident, revealed that meeting the police personally would be a similar approach that would be adapted by the goons too. Hence, he decided to bring the matter into public notice and made use of the social media platform.
This attack happened on #teachers family of my #Highway costar #SaharshShukla-these criminals have been troubling the villagers for a long time now but inspite of cases of murder, rape&robbery they roam free helped by local police Thana #Lalganj #RaeBareily #nolaw&order @Uppolice pic.twitter.com/YleJBx5n26

Appreciating Saharsh’s nature as a human being as well as his soft spoken behavior, Randeep Hooda decided to help his friend by talking about the incident on his social media handle and the actor couldn’t have been more right. He immediately received a response from the Uttar Pradesh police who not only assured him to look into the matter and also asked Rae Bareli police to file a report immediately on the assault issue.
We will get the matter enquired and ensure action against the accused. Thanks for flagging it out to us.@raebarelipolice Please ensure requisite legal action & send us a factual report about the case.
