Actor Randeep Hooda recently paid homage to the legacy of freedom fighter Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak. Randeep, who is set to make his directorial debut with Swatantrya Veer Savarkar, embarked on a visit to the memorial of Tilak in Pune, Maharashtra, alongside his co-star Ankita Lokhande.

Sharing the experience on social media, the actor-turned-director posted a series of poignant photographs capturing the essence of the visit. Donning a casual yet dignified attire comprising a black T-shirt, matching pants, and a brown jacket, Hooda was accompanied by Lokhande, who looked graceful in a green saree paired with a blue blouse.

Reflecting on the significance of Tilak's contributions to India's freedom struggle, Hooda expressed how the energy of revolution still resonates within the premises. He acknowledged the pivotal role Tilak played in inspiring countless individuals, including the young Veer Savarkar, to join the Swarajya Movement and fight for independence.

During the visit, Randeep had the privilege of witnessing the original first flag of Bharat, hoisted in 1906, a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by freedom fighters. He also praised the Tilak family for their meticulous preservation of artifacts and legacy, expressing gratitude for their warm hospitality and enthusiasm in sharing stories of Lokmanya Tilak.

Speaking of Swatantrya Veer Savarkar, Hooda's upcoming directorial venture, it promises to delve into the life and ideals of the freedom fighter. Produced by Zee Studios, Anand Pandit, Sandeep Singh, Randeep Hooda, and Yogesh Rahar, with co-producers Roopa Pandit, Sam Khan, Anwar Ali, and Panchali Chakraborty, the film is slated for release in Hindi and Marathi on March 22.
