After the success of Chhaava, filmmaker Laxman Utekar is preparing for his next ambitious project—a biopic inspired by the life of the legendary Lavani and Tamasha artiste, Vithabai Narayangaonkar. The film, tentatively titled Eetha, will feature Randeep Hooda and Shraddha Kapoor in the lead roles.
Randeep Hooda and Shraddha Kapoor Join Forces
According to sources close to the production, the film is set to begin shooting later this month in Mumbai. “The shoot commences by the end of this month. Randeep plays the romantic lead opposite Shraddha. The makers are confident about the casting, as both bring depth and versatility that align perfectly with Laxman Utekar’s vision,” the source revealed.
This project marks the first collaboration between Randeep and Shraddha, both of whom have carved a niche for themselves with performances that blend commercial appeal and emotional intensity.

The film celebrates the extraordinary life and legacy of Vithabai Narayangaonkar, one of Maharashtra’s most revered folk artists. Renowned for her commanding stage presence and moving performances, Vithabai played a pivotal role in preserving and popularizing Lavani and Tamasha—traditional art forms that have shaped the cultural identity of the region.
During her illustrious career, Vithabai received two President’s Awards in recognition of her immense contribution to Indian folk culture. Her life story continues to inspire generations of performers and artists.
