Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor is all set to kickstart his 2023 with his upcoming film, Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar. Recently the actor revealed he considered himself to be boring as a person and believed that he could not amuse people on social media all the time. He opted to ditch social media, so that people can watch him onscreen more and be interested in his character rather than his personal life.

In order for his fans to identify with his character and be more interested in watching him on screen, Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor stated that he chose to avoid social media or reveal less of his personal side. IANS quoted Ranbir saying, “Actually there are a lot of reasons but I feel that these days, the mystery surrounding us as actors is gradually fading. People are watching us everywhere on screens while promoting or doing ads, and now they see us on social media, and that's why their will to watch us in theatres is reducing according to me. So, my vision was that I should show myself to the audience less so that they could better relate to my character and believe in it more.”

Ranbir Kapoor is currently busy with the promotions of his upcoming film Tu Joothi Main Makkar Starring alongside Shraddha Kapoor. The actor also appeared on The Kapil Sharma Show recently for his film’s promotions. During his discussion of his movie, the host also inquired on his preference to avoid social media, given how active most performers are on it.

Ranbir said, “I find being on social media a big responsibility, and my personality is very boring and on social media, you must entertain people. I don't want this extra work in my life and I am happy not being a part of it. Plus, on social media, you have to wish everyone every year on birthdays and if you don't do it then trolling would follow.” He added, “And, I have a fake account on social media where I follow my favourite people. I don't have an official account, but I do have one anonymous profile.”

On the professional front, Ranbir Kapoor is gearing up for Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar starring alongside Shraddha Kapoor. The film is directed by Luv Ranjan, produced by Luv Films’ Luv Ranjan and Ankur Garg, and presented by T- Series’ Bhushan Kumar. It is all set to have a festive release worldwide in cinemas on Holi, March 8. Ranbir also has Animal in the pipeline alongside Rashmika Mandanna. Helmed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the film also features Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, and Tripti Dimri.
