Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra under Prime Focus Studios, Ramayana is being mounted as a two-part global cinematic spectacle. The project also brings together international collaboration with the Oscar-winning VFX company DNEG and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations.

The film recently generated widespread excitement after the makers unveiled a glimpse of Lord Ram on the occasion of Hanuman Janmotsav, further intensifying anticipation around the project.

Amid this growing excitement, Ranbir Kapoor revealed how the film has sparked curiosity in his young daughter, who has been asking him about the characters from the epic. Speaking about the experience, he said, "I'm extremely blessed to have this opportunity to be a part of this film. It coincides with my becoming a father. So, my daughter is three and a half years old."

He further shared how playing Lord Ram and narrating stories from the Ramayana at home have created a unique overlap between his professional and personal life. "At one side, I'm playing Lord Ram and on the other side I'm also going home and telling her stories about 'Ramayana'. To just see a three-and-a-half year old to be so curious and ask me, 'Did you shoot with Hanuman today? Did you shoot with Sita today?' It shows that this is a part of our DNA, our conscience. It's really a On part of our sub-conscience and the love for it comes naturally. We really want that to reach to a global audience," added Kapoor.

The film features a notable ensemble cast, with Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, and Ravi Dubey as Lakshman.

Positioned as a large-scale retelling of the ancient epic, Ramayana aims to combine traditional storytelling with cutting-edge visual effects to appeal to a global audience. The two-part film is slated for an IMAX worldwide release, with Part 1 arriving during Diwali 2026, followed by Part 2 in Diwali 2027.
