Radhika Apte, who is known for the portrayal of unconventional characters, yet again managed to win hearts in her role as a Dalit woman in the recently released web series Made In Heaven 2. Although the actress is seen only in one episode of the show, she has managed to earn praises from many including the grandson of BR Ambedkar, Prakash Ambedkar. For the unversed, BR Ambedkar aka Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar was a social reformer who revolutionized the country with his thoughts and work towards the scheduled castes and tribes including Dalits.

In the web show Made In Heaven 2, among the episodes directed by Neeraj Ghaywan, features one episode where Radhika Apte plays a Dalit who insists on getting married in the Buddhist way and it seems that it is this episode that has won the heart of Prakash Ambedkar. In fact, he took to social media to share a photo of Radhika from the series along with another photo featuring Buddha and BR Ambedkar along with an appreciative post saying, “I absolutely loved the assertion, defiance and resistance of the Dalit woman character — Pallavi. For those Vanchits and Bahujans who have watched the episode — Assert your identity and only then you gain political prominence. As Pallavi puts it, “Everything is about the politics.” Jai Bhim!” Responding to his post was the director Neeraj Ghaywan, who added, “This is everything! Thank you so much, sir! <3 <3”.

As for Made In Heaven 2, the web show focuses on Delhi-based residents Tara and Karan aka Sobhita Dhulipala and Arjun Mathur as they navigate their individual complex journeys along with learning and experiencing the issues of other women and men through the eyes of wedding planners. The show, which also stars Mona Singh, Kalki Koechlin, Jim Sarbh, Shashank Arora, among others, streams on Prime Video India and is created by Zoya Akhtar.
