“Ra.One is going to be the best sci-fi movie ever to release in India” – Abhijit

In a filmy party, we all hear, many a times, breaking glasses. But ever heard breaking stories in such parties? Well, you are just about to hear one. Last night I attended a small social gathering where a few celebrities from the film and television world came under one roof. From all the common friends I knew, I bumped into Abhijit Vaghani. Who is he? The man behind the remix of ‘Dhan Ta Nan’ (Kaminey), ‘Alisha’ (Pyaar Impossible) and the recent ‘Darling’ (Saat Khoon Maaf). A music producer by profession, Abhijit is also associated with two of 2011’s most talked about films – Ra.One and Dum Maaro Dum.

Vaghani quotes, “Ra.One and Dum Maaro Dum music is going to be 2011’s best, and personally, my best work too.” Abhijit is a part of the title track and one of the most awaited songs of this year, Dum Maaro Dum, featuring Deepika Padukone. “The song has shaped up not just close to the original Zeenat Aman song but even better, not taking anything away from a classic Devsaab and Zeenat Aman number. Once the track is out, I wonder whether people will concentrate on cricket or Deepika”, the music producer quotes.

What’s more! Abhijit is also nominated at tonight’s Big IMA Awards for Best Remix Song from Teen Patti called ‘Niyat‘. “I am on cloud nine. It’s a great honour to be nominated and I hope my hard work, some day gets recognized. But I am happy that the IMA have nominated my song. You feel to do better than the best each time when you produce a track”, says Vaghani.

I also asked him about Ra.One and found out that he is working on the background for the film along with Vishal – Shekhar. Abhijit tells me, “The background music of Ra.One is still in the making. There have been quite a few changes and the more time we give to it, the better it is shaping up. At the moment, all I can say is that Ra.One is going to be the best Sci-Fi movie ever to release in India. The VFX of this film is worth its weight in gold. It’s awesomeness. Thanks to Red Chillies. They’ve done a great job.”

Well then, here’s wishing Abhijit Vaghani wins more accolades and appreciation in music and at award functions. Good luck man!
