Actor R Madhavan recently opened up about how his wife Sarita often keeps him grounded, recalling an incident from the COVID-19 lockdown when she was surprised to see him at home without any work commitments.
Madhavan and Sarita were in a relationship for several years before they got married on June 6, 1999. Speaking to Unfiltered Entertainment, Madhavan said Sarita found it unusual that he wasn’t busy, considering how consistently he works across different languages and formats. Recalling the moment, the actor shared that Sarita even asked him to step out and get back to work. “During COVID in 2020, she kicked me out of the house and told me, ‘Go out, do some work, earn money,’” he said.
While the exchange was humorous, Madhavan admitted that it also made him reflect on his own mindset. She pointed out that he approached work as if he was already looking forward to leaving it, which made him reflect on his mindset. According to Madhavan, that observation stayed with him and made him introspect.
The actor also revealed that he took a break from films for nearly four years, which helped him reset both personally and professionally. He said the time away gave him clarity and allowed him to return with a more balanced perspective, choosing projects based on interest rather than pressure.
