SAB TV’s Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has left no stone unturned to keep its audience entertained over the past 14 years. In fact, a couple of actors and the director of the show, Malav Rajda, also quit TMKOC in the recent past, yet the show is going on. However, after he left the show, it was speculated that his wife and actor Priya Ahuja, who plays the character of Rita Reporter in the show, might quit as well.

Addressing the rumours, Priya has quashed the reports. During her interaction with ETimes, Priya made it crystal clear that she is still a part of the show. She also explained that since the current storyline doesn’t require her character, she has not been on the screen since a while ago. Ahuja also mentioned that she and her husband keep their ‘professional and personal lives separate.’

The portal quoted her saying, “In the future, whenever they call me to shoot, I will do it.” She further added, “This show has given Malav and me a lot in our careers. Things started getting better on the work front for me after I did Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah and the same holds true for Malav.”

As her conversation with the portal progressed further, Priya was also asked if having a director husband has helped her in landing roles easily. In her reply, the 30-year-old actress asserted, “Not at all. There is no truth to that. Malav and I keep our professional and personal lives separate. When he was a director on TMKOC, I never told him to speak to the writers or the producer.”

For the unversed, Malav and Priya met on the sets of the Sab TV show and got married in 2011. The couple is now parents to a three-year-old. Malav quit TMKOC in January this year to get out of his “comfort zone” and “grow creatively.”
