Pratibha Ranta opens up on the Kiran Rao directorial Laapataa Ladies; says, “I think it was my best experience” : Bollywood News

Laapataa Ladies, starring Nitanshi Goel, Pratibha Ranta, and Sparsh Shrivastava, received a favorable reception upon its premiere. The film certainly captivated hearts after its OTT debut on Netflix, where it received much-deserved attention and appreciation from viewers. Pratibha recently gave an interview in which she discussed her experience working on Kiran Rao's film.

In an interview with Filmygyan, Pratibha Ranta stated that the picture had a deep resonance with audiences. She insisted that it was more than simply a narrative. She added that people are not just complimenting her character, Jaya Singh, but also showing equal love for Phool Kumari and Deepak Kumar.

Pratibha said, “I’ve noticed that Laapataa Ladies has become more like an emotion. Whenever something happens, like if Jaya is getting a lot of praise, someone will say, ‘Praise Phool too,’ and suddenly Phool gets a lot of praise. If Phool is praised, then how can you miss Deepak? It’s just so beautiful to watch how people are emotionally connecting themselves to this film. I feel Laapataa has really become an emotion.”

She also discussed her experience on set, Pratibha Ranta said, “I remember when we were shooting Laapata Ladies, it was during the third wave. On set, looking at ma’am (Kiran Rao), you would never think there was any panic at all. Another great thing about ma’am is that on set, she pampers everyone a lot. We had so much fun and laughter during the shoot that we didn’t even realize how the time passed. I think my best experience was Laapataa Ladies.”

Aside from Nitanshi Goel, Pratibha, and Sparsh Shrivastava, the Aamir Khan-produced film also starred Chhaya Kadam and Ravi Kishan in prominent parts. The film portrays the story of two young newlywed ladies who are accidentally swapped during a train travel to their husbands' homes.

Interestingly, 2024 has proven to be a great year for Pratibha Ranta; in addition to Kiran Rao's Laapataa Ladies, the actress has received accolades for her small role in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's debut series, Heeramandi, which stars Sanjeeda Sheikh, Sonakshi Sinha, Richa Chadha, and Manisha Koirala.
