Real-life couple Prateik Smita Patil and Priya Banerjee Patil have come together on screen for the first time in the romantic music video ‘Ishq Fakir’. The song marks their debut collaboration as a couple and draws inspiration from the timeless love story of Heer and Ranjha.
Set against the backdrop of rural Punjab, ‘Ishq Fakir’ tells the story of a woman’s return that brings back unresolved emotions and a love once separated by circumstances. The narrative focuses on longing, devotion, and the quiet strength of a bond that refuses to fade with time. While rooted in a classic love legend, the video presents the story in a contemporary setting.
Talking about the project, Priya Banerjee Patil shared that both she and Prateik were immediately drawn to the song. “When producer Jatin Dharna approached us, we liked the idea instantly. We’ve never done a song together before, so it felt new and exciting. The vibe of the song is beautiful,” she said. Priya also spoke about shooting in Punjab, adding that they filmed at real locations and stayed in a small village near Chandigarh. “It was our first time shooting in a pind, and we enjoyed the experience. Working with your spouse doesn’t feel like work at all,” she added.
Prateik Smita Patil said the makers had given them a clear reference point with Heer-Ranjha. “We were involved in the story and vision from the start,” he said. ‘Ishq Fakir’ is sung, written, and composed by Alam Gir Khan. The song is presented by Jatin Dharna, released under the JMP Music label, and directed by Amitesh Sanghani. The track is now streaming on YouTube.
