The ongoing Colors show Pracchand Ashok aims at capturing the hearts and minds of viewers with the majestic love story of the legendary Samrat Ashok and Princess Kaurwaki. Adnan Khan plays the iconic role of Samrat Ashok and he is paired with the talented Mallika Singh, who breathes life into the role of Princess Kaurwaki. Considering that the show requires Khan to play the role of a king, he is also seen doing indulging in hand-to-hand combat, sword fighting, and other forms of combats which are required to essay the character with conviction. Recently, the actor discussed about the kind of preparation he underwent for the role of Samrat Ashok.

Adnan Khan revealed that he learnt martial arts and sword fighting and it has truly helped him to perfect his action sequences in the magnum opus show. Elaborating about the prep, Adnan said, “The martial arts training has certainly been beneficial as it enhances flexibility. However, I believe that for this role, the sword fighting classes I undertook were even more crucial. We often watch films and admire sword fighting sequences, wishing we could do the same. But once you hold a sword, your body doesn't respond the way you expect it to. So, these classes were invaluable in helping me develop the style of an emperor.” Earlier in an interview, Adnan had mentioned that he had already underwent fitness training as an actor, which too lent him ample support to essay this role as a King.

Speaking of Pracchand Ashok, the historical romance drama tells the tale of the princess Kaurawki seeking a suitor with a heart as pure as gold, whereas a prince, Samrat Ashok is a formidable conqueror, who is relentless in his pursuit of power. The love saga airs from Monday to Friday at 10 pm only on Colors channel.
