NTR Biopic: Rana Daggubati, Balakrishna, Vidya Balan starrer to release in two parts as NTR Kathanayakudu and NTR Mahanayakudu

Well, the much talked about NTR Biopic about actor-politician Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao is in the making and that too on a much grand scale. With an ensemble cast like Rana Daggubati, Vidya Balan, Jisshu Sengupta, Nandamuri Balakrishna, Telugu actor Sumanth amongst others, the film has already gone on floor. While it was being referred to as biopic until now, it has now got not one but two titles– NTR Kathanayakudu [hero] and NTR Mahanayakudu [superstar].

Did the two titles leave you surprised? Well, our reaction was no different! But recent reports have it that there is a reason behind having two titles. It is mainly because the film is expected to release in two parts. Furthermore, it is being said that there are not one but two release dates too. While NTR Kathanayakudu will release on January 9, the second part NTR Mahanayakudu is expected to release, a couple of weeks later, on January 24.

It is being said that tracing the journey of Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao has proved to be a difficult experience for the filmmakers as his career spans decades. Keeping in mind that need to touch upon all important aspects of the film, reports have it that the film is coming up to 4 and half hours. Considering the length, the makers came up with the idea of releasing the film in two parts.

Readers would be aware that NTR’s son Nandamuri Balakrishna will be playing the lead role of the protagonist whereas Bollywood actress Vidya Balan will be making her Telugu debut with NTR Kathanayakudu as Basavatarakam. The announcement about the film’s title was made on social media wherein the official handle of the director Krish Jagarlamudi and the actors of the film too posted about the titles and the taglines of both the films on Twitter:

Coming to other actors, it is a known fact that Rana Daggubati will essay the character of NTR’s son-in-law N. Chandrababu Naidu who is the currently the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. Similarly, we also saw Sumanth sharing his avatar from the film which was that of Akkineni Nageshwar Rao.

On the other hand, Rakul Preet Singh is expected to play the role of the late female superstar Sridevi. Another actor featuring in the film is Jisshu Sengupta who will be playing veteran filmmaker L V Prasad who launched NTR in Telugu cinema with Mana Desam.

As for the release date, the poster states that NTR Kathanayakudu will be releasing on January 9, 2019.
