New York based Ankur Bhatia to play Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s husband in Sarbjit : Bollywood News

Ankur Bhatia who hails from New York will be seen playing Aishwarya Rai's husband in Sarbjit. The actor auditioned for the film and post which he met director Omung Kumar and producer Sandeep Singh and was signed up for the role.

The actor will be seen essaying the character of Baldev. When quizzed about working with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, he said, "It was a great experience working with a talented actress like her. She is a thorough professional and her performance in the film is superlative. She has brought out the best in me."

Ankur who was born and brought up in Bhopal, began his career in 2010 in Payal Sethi's Grant St. Shaving Co. which was produced by Mira Nair. In 2012, he won the Best Actor Commendation Award at the NYU Tisch School of the Arts Film Festival for Coconut Grove.

As for the film Sarbjit, that is produced by Pooja Entertainment and T-Series features Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Randeep Hooda, Richa Chadha and Darshan Kumaar. The film is slated for release on May 20, 2016
