Discussing the rise of online trolling, Neha Dhupia recently shared her concerns about the worsening situation on social media. She noted that the environment had become so severe that cybercrime departments might increasingly step in to identify offenders. While many prominent actors such as Ranbir Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, and Aamir Khan have chosen not to maintain public social media accounts, Neha revealed that things were not as simple in Saif’s case.

In an interview with Zoom, Neha Dhupia explained that Saif Ali Khan did have a private account where he quietly read comments about himself. Recalling a conversation from several years ago, she said, “About five or six years ago, during an interview on my show, I asked Saif about trolling. He told me that although he wasn’t publicly active on social media, he had a private account. He said he occasionally read what people wrote and believed the situation would eventually get so bad that cybercrime departments would have to step in. He felt that people would be tracked down for their behaviour — and it is getting there. People have been found.”
Neha also spoke about the growing intensity of online harassment, particularly cases involving actresses targeted with manipulated images and AI-generated content. She expressed her frustration over such incidents but added that she had learned to become more resilient over time. “It makes me angry, but I’ve reached a point where I’m thick-skinned now. Ab farak nahi padta hai (It doesn’t affect me anymore),” she said. At the same time, she appreciated that authorities had begun taking action against those responsible for such harmful behaviour.
Neha Dhupia and Saif Ali Khan’s upcoming projects
Neha Dhupia will next appear in the upcoming Netflix series Single Papa. Directed by Shashank Khaitan, Hitesh Kewalaya, and Neeraj Udhwani, the show features Kunal Khemu, Manoj Pahwa, Prajakta Koli, and Ayesha Raza in prominent roles. The series is set for release on December 12.
Saif Ali Khan is currently busy working on Haiwaan, his next film directed by Priyadarshan. The movie also stars Akshay Kumar in a leading role, marking the duo’s on-screen reunion after 17 years. Haiwaan is expected to release in 2026 and has already generated anticipation among fans eager to see the actors collaborate again.
This renewed attention on Saif’s private social media presence and Neha’s insights highlights the growing pressure celebrities face in the digital age — and the steps they take to protect their mental well-being.
