Former cricketer and ex-judge of Kapil Sharma’s Show, Navjot Singh Sidhu, has reunited with the show after five years. The new promo of The Great Indian Kapil Show revealed that Sidhu will appear on the upcoming episode. The promo shows him seated in the judge’s seat while Archana Puran Singh looks lost.
In the promo, Kapil humorously pretended that Archana Puran Singh had undergone a makeover, making her resemble Navjot Singh Sidhu. Sidhu quickly clarified that it was indeed him. Archana then walked on stage and asked Kapil to intervene and said, “Kapil, tell Sardar sahab to get off my seat. He’s taken over my spot.” Harbhajan Singh, who will also appear in the episode, sided with Navjot, stated that no matter who occupies the seat, they cannot replace Sidhu.
The makers then revealed that Navjot Singh Sidhu is not returning as the judge but will appear on the show as a guest, accompanied by his wife, Navjot. They will be joined by Harbhajan Singh and his wife and actress Geeta Basra.
Navjot Singh Sidhu reunited with the show five years after he was reportedly asked to leave The Kapil Sharma Show in 2019. At that time, a source told The Indian Express that the channel had asked him to exit following his controversial comments on the Pulwama attack. He was replaced by Archana Puran Singh.
While the channel did not clarify the reasons behind his departure, Navjot had commented on his exit on X and stated, “I had to attend Vidhan Sabha’s session due to which I couldn’t go for the shoots of The Kapil Sharma Show and they got somebody else in my replacement for two episodes. I have no intimation about my termination from the channel. If it is regarding my statement, I will stick to what I have been saying yesterday, today and even tomorrow.”
