Nandish Singh Sandhu, who recently received rave reviews for his performance in the Amazon Prime Video series Jubilee, expressed his belief in stricter regulations and censorship in the OTT (Over-the-Top) industry. Sandhu asserted that in the OTT industry, regulations and censorship should highlight the importance of balancing artistic freedom and viewer sensitivity for responsible entertainment.

In a recent statement given by Nandish Singh Sandhu, the Uttaran actor emphasized on freedom of speech and creativity and also suggested the need for content categorization for audiences. "There should be some sort of control because, ultimately, freedom of speech and creativity are important. Artistic expression is important. All that is important, I understand, but at the same time, if you are not segregating the content, it becomes very difficult for people to understand what is right for their family to watch and what is right for their kids to watch," Sandhu explained.

Further, the actor also highlighted that censorship doesn't remove scenes but only provides transparent information to the audience, who can make their own decision to choose content as per their needs. He continued, "Censorship clearly means that you're just informing the audience. This film is in this category, and the other film is in this category. This film is for kids. This film is for adults over 18. This film is an adult film. It has sexual content, abusive content, drinking, and smoking. I think this is the important meaning of censorship, and that's how it should be.”

At the same time, he also stressed on the need for inclusion of all kinds of content, adding, "Everybody should be allowed artistic expression. Everybody should be allowed their freedom of speech and creativity, provided you inform your audience what they are in for, what they will be, and what they can expect out of the content that you're making.”
