Mrunal Thakur on ‘Kudiyee Ni Teri’; says, “It was very different from Bollywood and any kind of Indian style”

Mrunal Thakur recently appeared in Selfiee’s song ‘Kudiye Ni Teri’ opposite Akshay Kumar. The actress looked ravishing as she grooved to the beats of the song. In a recent Mrunal Thakur gave insights on how challenging it was for her to shoot the song even though the actress looked effortless in it.

Mrunal claimed that learning the dance moves was difficult because they were unlike usual Bollywood or any other Indian styles. IANS quoted Mrunal saying, “It was wonderful to learn a different dance form. It has a vibe to itself as the lyrics of the song go too. It was very different from Bollywood and any kind of Indian style, so I am excited to do something very different which has action in it too. This pushed me to go out of my comfort zone and, as an actor, I should never restrict myself.”

She continued by describing how she made an effort to coordinate her dance moves with the song's rhythm and lyrics. She said, “More than proving to people that I can do something new; it was a challenge for myself. I wanted to own myself and own my body and own my dancing skill and be as smooth as the song is.”

Mrunal further added that she had to manage her time well because she was simultaneously filming a Telugu movie and learning the dance moves for ‘Kudiye Ni Teri’. “I was shooting my Telugu movie while filming this song. I had to change my mental space which can be a bit exhausting. So that pushed me to work in any circumstances,” she concluded.

In the song, Mrunal sported a new grunge glam look, and it has sparked excitement amongst fans. Speaking of Mrunal’s performance in the song, a source told Bollywood Hungama, “Mrunal came on board only a few days before the shoot of ‘Kudiye Ne Teri’. Thus, she had to spend hours rehearsing. On top of that, she was doing some action for the first time. So, she had to train a bit in body language.”

Talking about the film Selfiee, bankrolled by Dharma Productions and Star Studios, it is directed by Raj Mehta, who earlier collaborated with Akshay for Good Newwz. Selfiee also features Emraan Hashmi, Diana Penty and Nushratt Bharuccha in the lead roles. The film is an official remake of the 2019 Malayalam film Driving Licence. Selfiee is slated to release on February 24, 2023.

On the work front, Mrunal is all set for her upcoming project Gumraah opposite Aditya Roy Kapur. She also has the periodic drama Pippa, which also features Ishaan Khatter, Priyanshu Painyuli and Soni Razdan. The actress also began shooting for her Telugu movie opposite south Indian actor Nani.
