After Modern Love Mumbai, Wamiqa Gabbi stars in Modern Love Chennai : Bollywood News

Wamiqa Gabbi is currently basking in the success of her Amazon Prime Video period drama Jubilee. The show, which is directed by Vikramaditya Motwane, is gaining appreciation and so is Wamiqa’s act as Nilofer Qureshi. She is now all set to star in Modern Love Chennai, an adaptation of the popular US show Modern Love.

Interestingly, Wamiqa was also a part of the earlier adaptation of the same show named Modern Love Mumbai. She was a part of the story titled Mumbai Dragon, which was directed by Vishal Bhardwaj. Hence, this makes her the only actor to feature in the two Indian editions of the popular US show.

Sharing her reaction at this feat, Wamiqa said in a statement, “I truly feel blessed that early in my career I was able to work with such exciting directors! When Kumararaja sir called me, I just knew I wanted to be a part of his world and his expression of love! This franchise has made waves across the globe with incredible cast like Anna Hathaway, Dev Patel, Julia Garner and to be a part of such a franchise for Mumbai and Chennai edition is super exciting!”

She added, “The show has more importantly given me a chance to work with two incredible directors– Vishal Bhardwaj in the Hindi edition and now the legendary Thiagarajan Kumararaja in the Tamil one.”

For those not in the know, Thiagarajan Kumararaja is the director of the popular and successful Tamil movie Super Deluxe, which starred Vijay Sethupathi, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Fahadh Faasil, Ramya Krishnan, etc.
