Pageant queens Mariana Varela and Fabiola Valentín, who represented Argentina and Puerto Rico at the 2020 Miss Grand International pageant, announced on social media that they got married on Sunday.

The couple took to Instagram to jointly announce that the two wed on October 28 at a courthouse in San Juan, Puerto Rico. "After deciding to keep our relationship private, we opened the doors to them on a special day," the caption read.

The post features a compilation of their candid moments including an intimate at-home proposal and a moment outside of the courthouse after the two got married. Organizers of 2020 Miss Grand International, where the two first met, also congratulated the newlyweds by sharing a post. "Congratulations to both of you," the caption read. "MGIO always support 'LOVE' without boundaries."

Fellow pageant queens, including Miss Grand International 2020 winner Abena Akuaba also congratulated the two. "MGI brought together a beautiful union," Akuaba wrote in the comments section. As People tabloid notes, Puerto Rico legalized same-sex marriage in 2015 as a result of the legalization across the U.S., while Argentina legalized it in 2010, becoming the first country in Latin America to do so.
