Milap Zaveri reveals planning sequel to Harshvardhan Rane – Sonam Bajwa starrer Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat even before release : Bollywood News

Director Milap Zaveri is gearing up for his upcoming Diwali release, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat, which is scheduled to hit theaters on October 21, 2025. The film stars Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa in a tragic love story filled with unexpected twists and turns.

Known for helming successful franchises in the past, Milap is now set to direct another sequel—not only Masti 4 but also a follow-up to Deewaniyat. In conversation with HTCity, Milap shared his plans for the sequel. “There’s always scope for sequels in Hindi cinema, especially when the story demands it. I have definitely planned one, but I am eager to see the audience’s reaction to the first film. Why wouldn’t someone make a sequel when the climax calls for it? I do have some ideas,” he revealed.

Harshvardhan Rane, who gained significant attention with the re-release of his 2016 film Sanam Teri Kasam, has built a loyal fan base. Milap credits Harshvardhan’s rising stardom as a key factor for the film’s potential success. “I have to give Harsh most of the credit. When Sanam Teri Kasam re-released and performed well at the box office, I messaged him with my script. Now, it’s up to me to make sure the film lives up to the expectations of Harsh’s audience,” the director said.

Milap’s upcoming film shares similarities with Saiyaara, which became one of the most loved films of the year. However, he clarified that his choice of genre was not influenced by Saiyaara’s success. “I made Marjaavaan (2019), which was also a tragic love story at its core. I began shooting Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat on April 17, months before Saiyaara was released and became a blockbuster. It’s just a coincidence,” he explained.

With Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat set to release this Diwali, audiences are eagerly waiting to see how this tragic love story unfolds and whether it will pave the way for a much-anticipated sequel.
