Rudra - The Edge of Darkness, the highly-awaited web series is Now streaming on Disney+ Hotstar. Starring Ajay Devgn in the lead role, it tells the story of a sharp-minded police officer facing a personal crisis while catching criminals. The six-episode-long show has a new villain every episode and each of these antagonists enhance the impact with their ruthlessness. ASHOK NIKOSE (Vikram Singh Chauhan) and Yashwant Nikose (Milind Gunaji)
In the past, we have seen serial killers targeting women, the elderly, kids, the homeless etc. The second episode of Rudra - The Edge Of Darkness shows a serial killer killing police officers. Moreover, the killer, Ashok Nikose, has been given a go-ahead by his imprisoned father, Yashwant. How the father-son keeps the cops on tenterhooks makes for a fine watch. That such a serial killer angle has never been explored before also makes it worth watching.
SIDDESHWAR KUMAR (KC Shankar)
He’s a dashing artist and a cult leader. And he knows how the minds of the cops work. Siddheshwar kills his victims brazenly and when cops try to tackle him, he knows how to put them in place with the help of the fourth estate. How Rudra has to go to great lengths to nab him is something to watch out for. K C Shankar’s performance is also quite memorable.
MAHESH DUBEY (Hemant Kher)
As Harshad Mehta’s brother Ashwin in Scam 1992 (2020), he was loved by one and all. In Rudra - The Edge of Darkness, he showed his heinous side as Hemant Kher plays the role of the serial killer Mahesh Dubey. The most terrifying aspect about his character is that he’s an ordinary looking person. He’s someone who might be living around us and seems harmless. However, not even the closest people in his life are aware of how ruthless he can be. A villain you’ll not forget easily for sure!
JK LAMBA (Luke Kenny)
The tattoo on his face in his entry is so badass and just through this aspect, he gets extra marks. Luke Kenny’s powerful dialogue delivery and menacing performance take the impact of the fifth episode many notches higher.
