Maitree actress Bhaweeka Chaudhary compares her character to Geet of Jab We Met; says, “I always wanted to play a character like that in my career”

en Bollywood News Maitree actress Bhaweeka Chaudhary compares her character to Geet of Jab We Met; says, “I always wanted to play a character like that in my career”

Bhaweeka Chaudhary opens about being a part of Maitree and her experience of shooting with co-star Shrenu Parikh.

Zee TV has always worked on subjects close to their hearts and will be introducing yet another set of new characters with their new show. We had earlier reported that the channel is now joining hands with Sunshine Productions after more than a decade for an exciting new show, Maitree, starring Shrenu Parikh. While the show revolves around two female friends, the role of the parallel lead Nandini will be essayed by Bhaweeka Chaudhary. Speaking about her new character, the actress compared it to the role of Geet played by Kareena Kapoor Khan in Jab We Met.

Set against the backdrop of Prayagraj, the show focuses on the journey of Maitree and her soul sister, Nandini.  The two best friends have been inseparable since their childhood, so much so that their mothers also question them as to what will they do when either of them gets married? While they are sure that nothing can break their friendship and that they will remain best friends even after marriage, it seems that life has its own plan for them, making everyone wonder - ulajh ke do ungliyan, chali jo barso saath… kya hua ki choote hath? Kya hua ki hue khilaaf ?

While popular actors Shrenu Parikh and Namish Taneja will play the roles of Maitree and Ashish respectively, prominent television actor Bhaweeka Chaudhary will be seen playing Maitree’s best friend since childhood, - Nandini, in the show. It seems that her character is that of a glamorous woman, who makes heads turn wherever she goes. Her parents separated when she was young which made her a headstrong girl who believes in speaking her mind. She is very close to Maitree and cannot imagine a second without her. But destiny seems to have its own designs as life suddenly takes an unexpected turn!

Talking about her character, Bhaweeka Chaudhary mentions, “I am very excited to bag this project and work with such experienced actors. I remember I was in Chandigarh when I got selected for this role and I didn't even think for a second to say ‘yes’ when I got the call. Considering Shrenu has been part of the industry for a long time, I had my inhibitions around her initially. However, being the down-to-earth person that she is, she made me feel comfortable from day one. Moreover, I am so glad to get this role because it is very similar to Jab We Met’s Geet and I always wanted to play a character like that in my career. I just hope the audience will shower their love and support and accept me in this new character.”

With these two childhood best friends drifting apart under the most unusual circumstances, it will be intriguing to find out the real reason behind why Maitree and Nandini have turned against one another.

Maitree will be coming soon on Zee TV.
