South Korean network KBS released a new funny teaser for the romance comedy drama Love According to the Law starring Lee Seung Gi and Lee Se Young. The upcoming law-romance drama is based on a hit web novel of the same name. Set in a Law Café, which is both a law firm and a café, the drama tells the story of a landlord Jung Ho, who is a former prosecutor once known as the 'monster genius,' and Kim Yu Ri, a lawyer who is a former Miss Korea contestant.
As noted by Korean media portal Soompi, the funny teaser uses an interview format to get in-depth details about Kim Jung Ho (Lee Seung Gi) and Kim Yu Ri’s (Lee Se Young) relationship. After first meeting in high school, continuing their friendship throughout college, and then reuniting as adults, both characters share their personal thoughts on their 17-year-long one-sided love.
The teaser begins in their high school days with Kim Yu Ri excitedly running up to Kim Jung Ho calling him. In his interview, Kim Jung Ho seriously states, as translated by Soompi, “It’s been so long that I don’t know when it started.” Kim Yu Ri adds, “There’s no way to know when it all began.” Soon after in the next scene, Kim Yu Ri scoffs and asks, “Did I like him?” before erupting into laughter. While Kim Jung Ho looks in disbelief at Kim Yu Ri and says with a big laugh, “Me?”
The two are shown as contrastingly different people in the next scene when they meet again as tenant and landlord. The two skip all awkwardness and get off to a rocky start with Kim Jung Ho angrily shouting, “Get out right now!” Kim Yu Ri then responds with just as much annoyance, “Enough is enough! Enough!”
As the report shares, their battle gets an added layer of tension when Kim Yu Ri sends Kim Jung Ho an official document for her tenancy. “If you really have to kick me out, then I’m going to make it complicated. I’m going to be a bother,” she explains. Kim Yu Ri immediately puts her plan into action as she finds her way into Kim Jung Ho’s home while drunk, making him comment, “She gets even more selfish as time goes on!”
However, the two are reminded of their past when they reunite on a spring day in a familiar spot under a cherry blossom tree. When asked what kind of relationship she has with Kim Jung Ho, Kim Yu Ri sweetly shares, “When we’re together, my life feels alive, and no matter what I do, I feel assured.”
The producers shared, “The first episode teaser captures all charms, including faintness [of memories], comedy, and heart-fluttering excitement. Please watch over the journey of ‘Love According to the Law,’ which will open a new phase of Monday-Tuesday dramas.”
