The last day of the five-day fashion gala, Lakme Fashion Week Summer Resort 2018 witnessed the much-awaited unveiling of the Spring Summer 2018 collection called Wonderland by feted Gujarat based designer duo, Shyamal and Bhumika. Setting the runway ablaze with her unabashed charm, petite beauty and sassy candour was the Queen of Bollywood, Kangana Ranaut. The diva seemed to reminisce her good old days from Madhur Bhandarkar’s movie, Fashion in which she had essayed the role of a supermodel- a role that clinched her a National Award too. Kangana Ranaut owned the runway as she strode wearing an intricately embroidered creation by the designer duo. Shyamal was earlier quoted by IANS on their choice of Kangana as a show stopper, “Kangana Ranaut is a superstar who exudes confidence while being fearless and bold. It felt natural to associate with her as she aptly embodies the qualities of a Shyamal Bhumika woman with great finesse and fearlessness.” Representing the contemporary Indian woman, Kangana Ranaut played the apt muse to the ethereal creations by the duo.
The Spring Summer 2018 collection seeks inspiration from the mystical Wonderland and features a melange of enthralling elements in gorgeous hues and intricate embroidery with specificity towards pastel colours with beads strung together on tulle, delicate embroidery with flowing satin and quintessential saris with their signature cutwork edges. Known for their creations that strongly reflect a passion for craft & heritage, the duo is also involved in the research and revival of various dying arts and crafts. Kangana donned an ornate muted gold and sequinned creation. With her hair in an updo and with a dupatta, she rounded out the look with a subtle makeup and oodles of signature sass.

On the professional front, Kangana Ranaut will be seen in the period drama, Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi essaying the titular role of Rani Laxmibai of Jhansi. The film has been pushed to release in August 2018
