Actor Kunal Thakur has opened up about men’s mental health and the importance of emotional vulnerability while discussing his role in the upcoming season of Who's Your Gynac?. The actor, who essays the role of Dr. Arth Dhamecha in the series, shared his views on how societal conditioning often discourages men from openly expressing emotions.
Speaking about the subject, Kunal said, “Vulnerability is actually the biggest strength. And I'm not just saying this because I'm an actor, but because after becoming an actor, I have realized how one can become a better human being, or how one can learn from people's emotions, how they want to grow in life, what lessons they want to leave behind, or what lessons they want to take away. Vulnerability is a strength and nothing else.”
His comments come at a time when conversations around mental health and emotional well-being are increasingly becoming part of mainstream discussions, particularly regarding the pressures associated with masculinity and emotional suppression.
Kunal’s remarks also align with the themes of emotional growth and self-discovery explored in Who’s Your Gynac? Season 2, which is gearing up for release on Amazon MX Player. After receiving appreciation for its blend of humour, friendship, and modern relationship dynamics in its first season, the comedy-drama is returning with a new chapter centered around personal and professional challenges.
Produced and created by The Viral Fever and Girliyapa, the series stars Saba Azad in the lead role of Dr. Vidushi Kothari. The second season also features Karishma Singh and Aaron Arjun Koul reprising their roles, while Kunal Thakur, Vibha Chibber, and Shruti Seth join the ensemble cast in key parts. The show has been directed by Himali Shah.
According to the makers, the new season will continue to explore themes of friendship, womanhood, emotional responsibility, and personal growth while following Dr. Vidushi as she navigates a new phase in her life and career.
The trailer of the upcoming season was recently unveiled, offering a glimpse into the emotional and humorous situations that await the characters. The series is set to premiere on May 22 and will stream free of cost on Amazon MX Player across mobile devices, connected TVs, Prime Video, Fire TV, JioTV, Airtel Xstream, and the Amazon shopping app.
Over the years, Kunal Thakur has appeared in projects such as Animal, Kabir Singh, and The Trial Season 2. With Who’s Your Gynac? Season 2, the actor continues to expand his presence in digital entertainment while also using his platform to encourage conversations around emotional awareness and mental health.
