Kriti Sanon opens up on people telling her that she was not meant for films; says, “Bohot positive perception nahi tha” : Bollywood News

Bollywood actress Kriti Sanon paved her way through and made her mark among top actresses in Bollywood. She has given some stellar performances including Bareilly Ki Barfi and Mimi. However, before entering the film industry, Kriti had heard from others that getting married was difficult for actresses.

Kriti Sanon opens up on people telling her that she was not meant for films; says, “Bohot positive perception nahi tha”

When asked if she had ever heard that the film profession wasn't for her, Kriti responded Pinkvilla, “Of course bola hai. Not only because of where I come from. I don’t think that was always the thing. But ye duniya ka perception hi bohot alag tha. Alag as in, bohot positive perception nahi tha. Like glamorous hai, aachi duniya nahi hai, aache log nahi hai, actors banne ke baad shaadi nahi hoti hai.”

The actress revealed that her parents believed that she was not meant for this industry as she always had been a shy and emotional kid who didn’t socialize much. Kriti said, “So my mother always said ‘I don’t think this place is meant for you. The people, the girls that come here are so confident and you know they ooze just a different kind of confidence, and you have to be thick-skinned.’” She added, “I am a very emotional person, so for her, it was like, ‘you are shy and you are not big on socializing, you have a limited few friends. You are also extremely emotional. You start crying when someone scolds you in one go’.”

On the professional front, Kriti was recently seen in Rohit Dhawan’s Shehzada starring opposite Kartik Aaryan. She will be next be seen in The Crew alongside Kareena Kapoor Khan and Tabu. She also has Adipurush opposite Prabhas and action film Ganapath opposite Tiger Shroff that is slated to release on October 20, 2023. The actress will also be seen opposite Shahid Kapoor in an untitled film under Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films banner.
