Kriti Sanon expresses her gratitude towards Adipurush director Om Raut; says, “Very few actors can get the opportunity to play a role like this in their lifetime”

Today, the trailer launch event of one of the most highly anticipated movies of the year, Adipurush, took place in Mumbai. The star-studded cast of the film, including Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, Sunny Singh, and Devdatta Nage, attended the event along with the director Om Raut, producer Bhushan Kumar, and writer Manoj Muntashir. The cast and crew shared their excitement about the upcoming film and gave insights into their experience while filming it.

Kriti Sanon expressed that seeing the Adipurush trailer on the big screen with both media and fans was a highly emotional experience for her, which gave her goosebumps. She further conveyed that Adipurush is not just a film but goes beyond that for the entire team involved in its creation.

Kriti Sanon expressed her gratitude towards the director Om Raut for considering her for the role of Janaki in the movie Adipurush and having faith in her abilities. The actress also stated that she put in her best effort to play the role with” utmost sincerity, belief, and respect.” She said, “Thank you Om, for considering me to play Janaki, for having that faith in me. Because very few actors can get the opportunity to play a role like this in their lifetime. I feel extremely blessed. I’ve tried to play the part with utmost sincerity, belief and with respect. I had belief already, but during filming, it only increased because I kept understanding the part.”

Kriti expressed that, in her opinion, Janaki's character is a combination of “pure kind soul, loving heart and a strong mind.”. She believed that these characteristics are integral to the portrayal of Janaki's role in the movie Adipurush. Kriti further mentioned that the recently unveiled poster of the film accurately depicts her character as someone who is patiently waiting while facing hardships but never succumbing to fear.

She also added, “Her belief that her Raghav would come… For me that was a big emotion. I’ve tried to give this my all, with complete sincerity. Baaki woh bhagwaan hai, hum insaan hai, agar kuch bhool chuk ho gayi ho toh please maaf kar di jiyega.”

Adipurush releases in cinemas on June 16, 2023.

Apart from Adipurush, Kriti has Ganpath with Tiger Shroff, The Crew with Kareena Kapoor and Tabu in pipeline. Kriti will be starring in an untitled film with Shahid Kapoor. The film is set to release in October 2023.
