The couch is back with its host Karan Johar as Hotstar Specials’ Koffee with Karan returned for season 8. Following the premiere episode with Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh, the Deol brothers, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol graced the second episode of the show! During the episode, Sunny recalled calling Akshay Kumar to avert the box office clash with OMG 2.

When Karan Johar asked Sunny if he contacted Akshay about the box office clash, Sunny said, “Obviously, I asked him. I said, ‘Please don’t do it if it’s in your hands’. But he said, ‘No, the studio and all…'” He said that Akshay said that two movies could be released at the same time. Sunny responded, “I said, ‘Okay, go ahead, I can just request, I can’t do anything more than that’.”

Sunny said, “I thought 'Okay my film is releasing and I have not had success for donkey's years'. And I did not want anybody else to come along with it. Well, but you can't stop anybody. So, obviously, it does hurt you. But then I was like does it matter. Let's go along with it. Eventually, both films went on to do well...”

Directed by Anil Sharma, starring Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel, Utkarsh Sharma, Simrat Kaur, Manish Wadhwa, and Luv Sinha, this sequel carries forward the legacy of Gadar - Ek Prem Katha, now highlighting the essence of love, family, and the enduring bond between a father and his son.
