KBC: Amitabh Bachchan recalls the shoot of ‘Kajra Re’ during a quiz; shares fond memories of the Bunty Aur Babli song : Bollywood News

We have all seen the kind of love that Amitabh Bachchan receives as the host of the Kaun Banega Crorepati. While audiences continue to fangirl/fanboy over the legendary actor and share their fondest memory with him or about him, the actor too reciprocates the same and is often seen sharing anecdotes about his personal and professional life. Recently, he ended up discussing about a song from his film which is also close to his heart – the popular track in question is ‘Kajra Re’ from the 2005 comedy Bunty Aur Babli, which was picturized on him, Abhishek Bachchan, and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

At the ongoing reality quiz show, Kaun Banega Crorepati, in one of the episodes featuring contestant Abhishek Garg, the latter was asked about the word ‘Ballimaran’. In the episode, Garg was asked about a question related to the ‘Ballimaran’ society of Old Delhi. While Abhishek managed to answer the question right and also went on to win Rs. 12.05 lakhs, Amitabh decided to take a trip down memory lane, as he recalled the song ‘Kajra Re’. The song is one of the rare Hindi songs which makes a reference to Ballimaran and it sort of made Big B reminisce about the song.

Speaking about ‘Kajra Re’ and the song making a reference to the word, Amitabh said, “Usmein hum teeno the. Tab Aishwarya humari bahu nahi thi, ab ban gayi hai. Gaane me bahu thi, Abhishek the aur hum the. Uss gaane mein bol the (All the three of us were there. At that time, Aishwarya was not our daughter-in-law, now she is. The song featured our daughter-in-law, Abhishek and me. The song did have this word).

Coming to Kaun Banega Crorepati, the show is the Indian version of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire and is one of the longest running reality shows on Indian Television, with it making a comeback for its 15th season.
