It is well-known that Karan Wahi and Akshay Oberoi are starring together in Hungama Play’s upcoming show, Bar Code. The show will see Karan and Akshay play friends who become sworn enemies. If word from the sets of the show is to be believed, then the two actors apparently had issues off-camera too. From not speaking to one another to avoiding each other during breaks, the two actors could be seen shunning all contact during the shoot.
Writer-Director of Bar Code, Vignesh Shetty said, “Yes. The vibe on the set was tense but the way I see it, every actor has his own process and considering the core of the show’s story is the rivalry between two nightclub owners, both Akshay and Karan stayed away from each other off-camera as they could blow off some steam when they came face to face in the scenes and that really helped. I don’t think there was anything personal at play here.”
Produced by Abhishek Pathak under the banner of Panorama Studios, written and directed by Vignesh Shetty, Bar Code narrates the story of two close friends who get into the nightclub business together. Their egos cause a rift between them and this gets them involved in a bitter rivalry. However, they find themselves deeply entangled in each other’s lives repeatedly, causing further friction between them and their circle of friends.
Bar Code is scheduled to premiere on Hungama Play this October.
