Besides being a filmmaker, Karan Johar is also a doting son, and his social media feed is proof of it. He has often written emotional posts for his mother Hiroo Johar. Since he has left no opportunity to give a shout-out to his mother, how can he miss showering love on Hiroo on her 80th birthday? For the unversed, Hiroo Johar turned 80 today on March 18. To celebrate this occasion, Karan took to his Instagram handle and dropped a bunch of photos featuring the mother-son duo including some priceless throwback pics.

While the first and last photo in the carousel gave a sneak peek into Hiroo’s birthday celebration, the post has six throwback photos. One of the images, which is monochrome, sees Hiroo posing with her late husband Yash Johar. In another photo, a young Karan can be seen flashing his million-dollar smile while posing with his “brave and resilient” mom.

Penning an emotional note to give the token of his love, the producer-director wrote, “My brave and resilient mama turns 80 today…. She taught me how to love …how to stand for what I believe in … never apologise or justify myself if I was in the right… never pretend to be anyone I wasn’t …. She is as much my conscience as she is my fashion police,” in the caption. He further added, “Also the only person who i am still scared of… I love you mom to the planets and back …. I would never have been able to raise Roohi and Yash without you.”

Reacting to the post, many from the film fraternity dropped birthday wishes for Karan’s mother including Malaika Arora, Hrithik Roshan, Abhishek Bachchan, Twinkle Khanna, Shilpa Shetty, Soni Razdan, and Ektaa Kapoor, among others.

Coming to the professional front, the 50-year-old filmmaker donned the hat of the director after seven years for his upcoming film, Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, starring Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh. It is slated to release on July 28 this year.
