Shahid Kapoor, Pankaj Kapur, and Mrunal Thakur appeared on The Kapil Sharma Show recently to promote their forthcoming film, Jersey. The film's original April 14 release date has been pushed back to April 22. Sony has released a new teaser for the show, which features Shahid and Pankaj Kapur for the first time, and Kapil took advantage of the occasion to embarrass Shahid in front of him.

In the show, Shahid and Mrunal walk onto the stage hand in hand. Mrunal is dressed in a black saree, while Shahid is dressed in a white blouse, a yellow jacket, and blue denims. Mrunal is questioned by Kapil about her participation in the film, which prohibits Shahid's character from playing cricket. "Isliye, kya ye safed jersey dhoni padti hai?" On her defence, she claims that she should not have argued with him in the film because she is the one who does housework in addition to working. Kapil remembers seeing Pankaj Kapur with a white shirt, blue denims, and a sleeveless black jacket in a number of films and television shows, from Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro to Maqbool. Kiku Sharda, a comedian, also wished Shahid a happy birthday and joked that he should have brought a bucket of chocolates.

Jersey is a Hindi version of Gowtam Tinnanuri's Telugu film of the same name, which was released in 2019. In the film, Pankaj Kapur plays Shahid's coach, and Mrunal plays his wife.
