Kapil Dev got emotional after watching Ranveer Singh starrer 83 for the second time – “Few scenes gave me goosebumps” 83 : Bollywood News

Ranveer Singh starrer 83 is now available on Disney+ Hotstar and Netflix. The film was released in theaters last year but due to the omicron cases growing many couldn’t watch or skipped it.

Kapil Dev got emotional after watching Ranveer Singh starrer 83 for the second time – “Few scenes gave me goosebumps”

Marking its digital release, Netflix shared a video on untold stories with Kapil Dev and host-actor Gaurav Kapoor. Kapil said in Hindi, “The first time I saw it, I was like okay this is a film. It did not really impact me. The second time became very emotional. I couldn’t believe our lives have been transpired so beautifully on screen. All these years, I thought Bhaag Milkha Bhaag was the ultimate sports film but I was so touched with 83. I actually walked out of the theatre the third time, I was supposed to watch it.”

During the screening of the film, Kapil also revealed the minute details being covered beautifully saying, “My daughter said that the moment Ranveer steps out of the bus, she too was taken aback by the similarities. There are a few scenes which even gave me goosebumps because it immediately took me back to those days.”

While the movie was in production, Kapil Dev also got a peek into the film industry and saw the level of hard work put into it. He also mentioned Ranveer to be practicing diligently in Delhi for 6-8 hours daily. Gaurav also asked Kapil if he wanted the movie about him. To this, Dev refused the film and wanted it to be “about the tournament from start to end.”

At the end, Kapil Dev also revealed the team mates having a WhatsApp group where they still send messages of their families.

83 is directed by Kabir Khan. The film released on Christmas on 24th December 2021 in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.
