Hollywood rapper Kanye West, who now goes by the name Ye, claimed in a video shared on January 15 that his estranged wife, Kim Kardashian, did not invite him to their daughter Chicago’s birthday celebration.
On Saturday, Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner hosted a joint birthday celebration for Chicago (Kim and Ye's daughter) and Stormi (Kylie and Travis Scott's daughter), whose birthdays fall on 15th January and 1st February respectively. The 44-year-old rapper accused the Kardashians of intentionally keeping him away from the party. “I wasn’t allowed to know where her party was, there’s nothing legal that’s saying that this is the kind of game that’s being played,” he says. “This is the kind of thing that really has affected my health for the longest and I’m just not playing. I’m taking control of my narrative this year. I’m being the best father—the Ye version of a father—and I’m not finna let this happen.”
He then goes on to wish Chicago a happy birthday and says he’s only sharing the video because he needs his fans’ support. He claimed that he was supposed to be in Miami to record his next album, and that his entire schedule is based around his father duties.

Kanye was ultimately able to attend the bash, thanks to assistance from Travis Scott and Kylie Jenner. “Yo, I’m so happy right now,” Ye said in the Instagram clip. “I just came from Chi’s party and I just gotta shout out to Travis Scott for sending me the address and the time, and making sure that I was able to spend that birthday memory with my daughter to be there with the rest of the family.”

He then added, “I just saw everybody. It was Kris (Jenner), Corey (Gamble) and Kylie — Kylie let me in right when I got to the spot, because security stopped me once again when I got there. It’s just a matter of having a conversation, open dialogue and everyone had a great time.”
Chicago is the second youngest of four of the children West shares with ex-wife Kardashian, who filed for divorce from the rapper in February 2021.
According to what sources told Page Six, Kim was “shocked” by his allegations and claimed that they pre-agreed to host two separate birthday parties for their youngest daughter. “Kanye was always supposed to have Chi at 4,” the insider told the tabloid. “They pre-agreed to have two separate events and it was his idea. Kim was shocked that he went on live accusing her when it was his idea to begin with to have two separate parties. She was going to have hers early in the day and he was throwing Chi her own separate party. No one was trying to stop him from coming.”
Kanye West and Kim Kardashian are undergoing divorce. While Ye is dating Julia Fox now, Kardashian is in relationship with SNL star Pete Davidson.
